It could be about objects, events (e.g. Aussies Rulz!!! football), etc...
E.g. You: "We have bilbies." Her: "WTH are they?" You: "Our replacement for the Easter Bunny." Her: "Whuaaa?...Speaking of wildlife, we have moose." You: "Oh, I love chocolate mousse."
Anyway, her readers may learn (HA! Educashion...) something about you/Australia and your readers about her/Canada(?).
